Meet Our Team of Professionals
Mike Roberts (Co-Owner)
Mike Roberts who is the co-owner of Sunshine Golf – Golf Holidays & Discounted Green Fees. Mike has been playing golf since the age of 6 and has been a member of UK PGA since 1982 – 41 years and counting! Mike worked as assistant-pro and head-pro at many courses in the UK including Finchley and Knebworth Golf Courses. He plays golf here on the Costa del Sol at least twice a week – more if we let him out of the office! He also has played many of the courses throughout the rest of Spain and Portugal and around the world including: Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany and USA. His favourite course here on the Costa del Sol is Sotogrande and, this was a difficulte one, his favourite of all time is Pinehurst No 2. He is always happy to talk to our Sunshine Golf clients and make suggestions and recommendations on where to play – he doesn’t always remember where he left his car keys but he remembers every hole on pretty much every course he has ever played.
Mandy Roberts (Co-Owner)
Mandy Roberts who is the co-owner of Sunshine Golf – Golf Holidays & Discounted Green Fees and guess what – Mike’s wife! Mandy has no golfing background – other than being married to Mike for 25 years and owning and working within Sunshine Golf for the past 17 years. Prior to moving to Spain, with Mike and their family, Mandy worked in project management at Marks & Spencer Head Office in London and she is passionate about offering Sunshine Golf clients the very best in service and the ultimate customer booking experience. As well as working alongside our Reservations Team making bookings and liaising with clients she manages all aspects of Sunshine Golf marketing and branding and is currently working with a website designer putting the finishing touches to our new website which should go live within the next few months. Although she doesn’t play golf Mandy enjoys travelling with Mike to golfing destinations in Spain, Portugal and worldwide which mainly involves staying in lots of fabulous hotels and trying out the spas, bars and restaurants – it’s a tough job but someone has to do it!
Gemma Gribbon (Reservations Manager)
Gemma Gribbon – Sunshine Golf – Golf Holidays & Discounted Green Fees – Reservations Manager. Originally from Belfast, Gemma has a degree in Sports & Business Management from Leeds University apparently she picked her uni based on the fact that she´s a mad Leeds United supporter! Gemma has lived in Spain for 22 years and has worked for us here at Sunshine Golf for the past 16 years. Gemma speaks fluent Spanish and 4 years ago was bitten by the golf ´bug´ after she started playing golf with a local golf society. Since taking up golf she has managed to play all the courses on the Costa del Sol and is now spreading her wings and playing golf further afield including Costa Almeria, Granada, Costa de la Luz, Cadiz and Seville and later this year she will be trying out the courses on the Algarve, Portugal. Her favourite course here on the Costa del Sol is Rio Real and her proudest golfing moment, so far, is a Hole in 1 on the 3rd at Mijas Olivos. Jackie Murrell
(Accounts, Contracting & Reservations)
Jackie Murrell – Accounts, Contracting & Reservations – also known as the office ´feeder´ she is a great cook! Jackie has worked in the Golf Tourism industry in Spain since 2012 and has worked for us here at Sunshine Golf – Golf Holidays & Discounted Green Fees – since 2015. Prior to living in Spain Jackie lived in sub-Saharan Africa. Jackie has played golf in the past but has not been out on a course for a couple of years – she says ´never say never, I might go back to it at some point!´ Jackie has an encyclopedic knowledge of golf destinations in Spain and Portugal having visited many of them in the past 11 years so, as well as being able to help you with your Costa del Sol bookings, she is always ready to recommend other areas for your next golfing holiday.
Stephanie Mortimore (Reservations & Administration)
Stephanie Mortimore – Reservations & Administration. Stephanie is the newest member of our Sunshine Golf – Golf Holidays & Discounted Green Fees – team having joined us in 2022. She has lived on the Costa del Sol since the age of 5 and completed all her education in Spanish schools including gaining a degree in Translation & Interpreting from Malaga University. She speaks fluent Spanish and French and beginners German making her a fabulous asset to our team. Stephanie is a ´gym bunny´ and loves going to the gym and lifting weights we are sure that being ´super fit´ will stand her in good stead when we start to introduce her to playing golf! Although new to the world of golf she has quickly learned how all our systems and processes in the office work and we will soon be getting her out on the local golf courses. You never know, she might also be bitten by the ´golf bug!´
